Hi,

To be honest I can't find the technical spec on the Alex race 24 wheel so hard to compare.

The Miche come in at 2100g which is light but not super light. I think they are a step up on the Alex rims from the few reviews on the net though.

My wheels are on EBay still and they end in a couple of hours. It looks highly likely they will go for less than £80 which is a bargain as they come with tyres and tubes....

These are very heavy.

Try looking around a while for something approaching 1700g -1750g or less to feel any discernable differance/benefit.

It's entirely possible for under £200.

The benefit of lighter wheels is from loss of rolling mass & is generally thought by industry experts to be one of the best places to upgrade.

In the meantime, a pair of lighter, fast rolling tyres will give you a boost.

Schwalbe Ultremo ZX tyres are/were on offer at www.merlicycles.com for £42 a pair & in a variety of colours too.

Beware though, lighter tyres also sometimes = less puncture resistance.
