Cycle Computer - What's wrong with the cheap ones?

Every time I've got one I basically get the cheapest trip computer I could in the store which did what I wanted. The last time it turned out to be a Cateye Astrale 8 which iirc was on some kind of offer so was cheaper than anything else. Never had a problem with the previous ones before besides they got lost/crushed which is my own fault.

I've had an Aldi special (wireless) £5 for over a year now and it's worked through rain, snow,ice and anything else you could throw at it, no interference either.
