Cycle Lanes and Cars

OK then, if you have a cycle lane marked on the road, and a car is parked next to the kerb, is this not illegal as it's blocking a right of way ? Surely he / she should be parking up to the solid white line leaving the cycle lane clear, if it blocks the traffic flow then they shouldn't be parking there any way.

Opinions please.

I'm quite happy if cars park in cycle lanes, I don't want to use them anyway. ;)

well i got a ticket once for being parked 6 inches over the end of a cycle lane. can't remember if it was a solid line or broken line, but it cost me £30 ;)

If the cycle lane is marked by a dotted line then it's only advisory and it's not illegal for cars to park in them.

The cycle lanes in our town dont go anywhere anyway ;)
