Cycle-proofing the Midlands Road

Is that like water-proofing and future-proofing, if so what have cycles ever done to the Roads

Well hopefully it will be a good thing, I will wait and see once they are done with it though. More M6 closures will be the biggest nightmare on an already poor stretch for delays (J13 - 15)

oh, and the re-surfacing sounds good, again, it depends on how they do it and whether they just top dress everything...

It SHOULD be more like future proofing, making the roads ready for cycles like making them ready for the future.

HOWEVER, I'm deeply sceptical because they've recently proposed banning cycles from the proposed A14 Huntingdon bypass bypass (not a typo) on the grounds that no one currently cycles along its route, which is currently open fields!

Also, it seems our shiny-faced overlord hasn't learnt that we can't build our way out of congestion by simply adding lanes and hopes no one else has either.
