How did the police catch him using CCTV ?
No licence numbers or anything...

Either he's in CCTV range all the way to home/work/pub/etc and they knew where to go looking for him...

Or more likely, he's one of their 'regulars' and they recognised him...

It is a shame that some of you can get your heads round a serious issue, this is not about, which part of the country you live in or you views on the press. It is about what is acceptable behaviour on the roads. The key quote, for those who didn't bother to read it, is
Constable Ally McIvor of Grampian Police's city centre unit, who was leading the investigation, said: "Road traffic laws are there for the safety of all members of the public and they apply to all road users including cyclists.

"Those caught contravening these laws will be dealt with appropriately, whether they are car drivers or pedal cyclists.

"It is worrying to think that someone thought that this manner of cycling was acceptable.

Yes there are a lot of bad drivers out there, but nothing is going to change for us cyclist as long as bad cycling is considered to be some how acceptable. RLJers and pavement cyclist give us all a bad name...

And that is something that I totally agree with.

However, I doubt that the cyclist in question did actually consider his own behaviour acceptable, at least not after he'd knocked three (albeit uncomplaining) people to the ground.
