Cycle routes from Genoa.

Hello all, I will be spending the last week of September in Genoa, Italy for work and will be taking a bicycle along. I know the Liguria coast is hilly form previous visits but can anyone suggest a flatter route, perhaps along the coast? I am still recovering from an injury and an all-out mountain attack is not in the works.

I am looking for day trips as I need to back in Genoa each evening.

It's hilly, very hilly, in all directions, including the coast road.
The only bike I've ever done it on had an engine.

Thanks for the responses folks. andym's site was excellent. I rode South out of Genoa and one cannot avoid hills. Very enjoyable nonetheless and I will do the same in the future. The trains are a great way to get to starting points. Very inexpensive.
