Cycle Shoe Sizing Help ???

Just arrived my beautiful "Fizik R3" from planet X, i have just tried them on and to my dismay they seem to be a little to big, when done up i am normally a size 42 but ordered 43, am i right in thinking they need to be tight and comfy.
There is a little room in the toe area and the velcro fastner is almost at its furthest point, should i send them back and go for a half size smaller as i am not to sure how a cycle shoe should fit.

It's a risk you take. The half size could be too tight when you add in natural foot swelling and thickness of socks.

I also ordered a 43 as thats what my current shoe is and am awaiting delivery of my Fiziks. Will see how they fit and report back. My current ones were a little roomy but perfectly fine when tightened fully and like TMHNET says, when your feet get hot and swollen you dont want your shoes to be too tight.

I always try shoes on at a LBS before ordering off the web.
For instance, Shimano are always needed in a anger size fir me

Agreed but this deal was to good to miss( that what i told the wife anyway), have ordered a 42.5 just in case and will send one pair back
