Well I take my hat off to him as I think bottled water is a fashion accessory that modern society has added to their "must have and be seen with" list:biggrin:

I hope it catches on. Ironically on my flight to oz last year I passed time by watching a programme about bottled water and its cons. The one that really irked me was in some 3rd world country, a company had got thousands of $ to find water, an alternative to current supply a stream from which people got cholera. They found it and set up a bottling plant on the site, the residents still have to drink from the stream ;)

Branded water bottles, man bags, ipods, sandles - they conjure up an image of London types on the tube.

Are these posts real?

Now forget about the man bags, pint's of coffee etc..... which I agree are fashion items.

But are you seriously saying that people who buy bottled water are only doing it to be trendy??????

The point that at least I was trying to make is that bottled water costs money whilst tap water is free and of the same quality or (some would say) better.

Aye the tap water in my house is great but the quality of it elsewhere is rank. Especially in offices.

I'm not talking about buying bottles of Perrier etc but there's nothing wrong with volvic, strathmore, evian, vittel etc........

I do buy bottles of bottled water sometimes when I'm out and about. Is it any worse than buying a bottle of Coke?

I refuse to buy imported bottled water. Why do we need to import water into a country where it rains almost daily?

They even encourage it in our Primary Schools here, the children don't pay for it but the school has to. The point is, there's a tap a few metres away from where the children fill up their "bottles" from the bigger "bottle"

It's just beyond me how folk can not go out from home without their bottled water, always managed before, so what's changed apart from being brainwashed.

I buy bottled water when I need a drink and am not near a tap. Sometimes I reuse the bottles (which are usually smaller and more conveniently shaped than cycling bidons) by refilling them from the tap next time I go out. However, I have limited space in my pockets and the only way I could take a litre or more with me when I leave the house, if for example I want to spend an afternoon in the park, would be to use a bag. But apparently you lot don't like those either

I buy a bottle every so often, generally when I'm going on a long train trip and forget to take a bottle with me - I just reuse the bottles. I'm always slightly annoyed with myself for forgetting.
