This is one of my fave replies, kinda silly seeing as they chose to move to a cycling obsessed nation.

Such a well written article by Tricia. I am in total agreement. I am originally from Belfast but now live in an urban city in France where there are the same problems. I don't know how many times I have almost be run over by cyclists who think they are competing in the Tour de France. They have no respect for pedestrians or drivers. They fly through red lights and suddenly appear on footpaths even though there are cycle lanes. They whizz around without wearing helmets and here there is the norm that young children sit on the back of backs in a child seat. To me that is just crazy.

Aren't all cities 'urban'? Anyway I think she is telling porkies, why doesn't she say which city?

I wonder if she's just passed her test and counting the cost and now a bit bitter & twisted. Any one who says that was well written has to be her mum/ a relative. (or bored reporter)

What amuses me is that half are complaining cyclists are too fast and the other half too slow...... no pleasing some people!

It's a hard life - How many cyclists does she come across in carryduff ? I guess 1 or 2 ffs !
What next bashing people for walking on the pavement when she is driving to park on her drive.

Seems if she can't hack a few cyclists she should'nt be driving herself.

Seems like a draconian viewpoint from a journalist that has never ridden a bike! Perhaps she takes a 'theory test' and then actually tries it for say a month to experience the other side. Narrow minded thinking just adds fuel to the fire, pretty poor and doesn't really represent the cyclists angle enough.

1/5 or as the teachers used to mark ".. could do better, please see me!"

lol been reading all the posts on the telegraph website. very funny. There is only one in her favour:

Well said Tricia.
Sorry to see you are getting castigated but not surprised when you see everyday the mentality of cyclists.
Those riding two, three abreast holding up the roads.
Those trying to edge up the inside between cars and the pavement to ge to the front at red lights, hitting wing mirrors with not a care in the world.
Then when they get to the lights stopping is a novelty, it seems yo become colour blind when you put your behind unto the saddle.
Cyclists are a public nuisance and should be made to pay an annual charge so that they may then just respect the roads and other road users.

It was a letter from a member of the public I think not an opinion piece by a journalist.

I see after another read it seems they lazily just copy/pasted a letter from the public trying to stoke up this kind of debate divide. Looks like the paper had no balls to write up what they actually think!

Artist's impression of what Tricia may look like, although this is as yet unconfirmed:

So you're shagging Bad Company, who is really called Tricia?!?!?;)

it's complicated. best leave it or she'll be forced to beat you senseless and use your unconcious body for whatever purpose springs to mind. God knows it's happened to me often enough.
