Where I work they sent and email and put it on the intranet, no free breakfasts, no fan fair on arrival. I cycled in as I do most days, there are a couple of extra bikes in the racks (mine is in the office drip drying!). I will treat myself to a nice lunch.

I did speak to other cycle commuters to see if they would be happy to help less experienced cyclists in from near where they live. The HR team promised to send something out about it, but didn't.

I saw no other cyclists on the road, probably because the weather was horrible.

Yesterday there were ten or a dozen bicycles outside.

Earlier in the week, I sent an all staff email (600 addressees) about national cycle to work day being Thursday.

Today (Thursday) there are two bicycles outside. Q

I saw a grand total of No extra cyclists on the road today.
Then again, which idiot came up with the idea of having a "National Cycling day" mid September. If you ride before 7am you need lights and the likelihood of it raining is much higher. Why not July when we have maximum daylight hours and the kids aren't at school so there's no logistical nightmare of getting them and you to two separate destinations?
. . . unless you work in a school!
Cycled in as usual. Same number of staff bikes as usual.

But if it was July then teachers wouldn't need to cycle in. Everyone knows they just lay on the sofa watching tv during the summer holidays! That was the obvious exception in September though - well spotted!!

Ditto re: cycling in anyway. I don't think I could go back to the car now. I enjoy my commutes!

So its today, and thats my day off, I shall not be cycling to work today, they'll find me something to do grr

In all seriousness, our cycle racks are filled to capacity, I raelly hope that not too many more of my colleagues decide to ride in or there's going to be a big problem parking the bikes
there's room for 15 bikes in my workplace, more if people just lean them against the walls etc (its a large room they've dedicated to cycles) and the total amount of bikes thats ever been there is.... 1, mine, I've got my own spot and will be devastated if another bike appears and uses it

I know where my towel is
Found this out today, as I am the only one in my office area that cycles, I think getting the metal box brigade to cycle in the rain would have been something well out of my league, however I did enjoy the rain, and cycled 30miles before starting work.

Plus, I enjoy having the shower all to myself and not having to queue for it!

The company i work for announced, just yesterday, it was supporting Cycle to work day. It wanted all the people that cycle, to gather outside the building today, and have a picture taken for their social media pages.
Funny how all of a sudden they're supporting cycling. They flatly refused to join the cycle to work scheme. Too much admin.
Smacks of self publicity to me.
As a protest, i didn't have my picture taken! That told em!

I wish my company was big enough to promote a free breakfast or bike health check, as far as I know I am the only person to cycle to work apart from occasionally the MD.

On the other hand the fact that my company is fairly small means the offices are in a picturesque village and my commute is rural and mostly stress free. Not sure I would enjoy it so much cycling in a big city.
