Another one that's a bit American, Pearl Harbour. Been a few different versions over the years so your favourite probably depends on your age but I like nearly all of them for different reasons.

You. missed quite a few. I’d put Platoon top of the list. Wonderful story and acting plus the haunting music by Samuel Barber.

After that I’d put Apocalypse Now just because it is such an epic and some of the set pieces are visually stunning. Nearly killed Coppolla and Sheen while Brando, grossly obese, picked up a cool $3.5m for a few minutes, insisting they only shoot him in profile.
