Hi
My boyfriend and I are planning to cycle from Caen or St Malo to Tours in the Loire in June on our tandem!
Does anyone have any advice on a a quiet, flat route?
Thanks

There aren't any really hilly bits whichever way you go, the route along the canal between St Malo - Rennes is nice (and dead flat), other than that it's your typical rolling French countryside of cereal crops & sunflowers changing to vinyards as you get near the Loire with plenty of small quiet lanes to choose from. Personally, I'd pick a route from St. Malo to the river around Angers then follow the Loire cycle route to Tours. There's no shortage of campsites and more chateaus than you can point a bagette at.

We cycle toured from St Malo to Caen last year. Between the two is hilly, like Devon and Cornwall hilly so take care to plan a flat route around the hills. The advantage of going via Caen is that there are more ferries per day.

Was gutted that my friends didn't want to cross Suisse Normandie.
