Even figuring in the cost of the bikes, I figure I'm money ahead, because while I commute only 5 miles per day, my wife would have to drive double that to come and get me, but the drive time is also worth money, and that's a good bit of time and trouble. Measuring it monetarily, not a great deal is saved. Measured by time, trouble, and expense, it makes quite a difference. I and Mrs. GA are both happy about that aspect. I might also mention health benefits of cycling, as well as the community things I get involved with through cycling. Cycling has many intangible benefits for the rider. Being down to one car has great benefits as well. With my regular car brand(Mitsubishi) leaving the US Market this year, that will mean I have to go to my fall-back choice, Volkswagen-Audi,, and those are a bit more expensive. Or I may consider Fiat. But no Porsche,
