Cycling Route From Tunbridge Wells to Hastings

In a week me and a friend are cycling down to Hastings then getting a train back. We know the route from our homes to Tunbridge Wells.

Looking for a good route, don't mind the hills at all, just want to stay off the busy roads.

Also if you have any nice hills to ride or sites to see along this ride then please post.

(When going somewhere new I end up using the roads like I would in a car and end up on miles of dual carriage ways... boring and full or cars.)

Any help from the cycle chat community would be grateful.

You have to go via Brightling. That's a must. Say hello to Mad Jack.

It's a nice climb up to Brightling too. Goes on a bit but not too steep* - and if it's a clear day, the views from the top are spectacular.

(*My favourite route up is the road from Robertsbridge. I guess you'll be coming from the north, which is still a nice climb - a bit steeper than the Robertsbridge road, iirc.)
