I've driven the Northern section-ish (Lofotens-Kiruna) over King somebody or other's pass. Was a lovely drive but bleak ... in summer.
Anyway my specialist subject, to a degree, is over the border in N Finland (Muonio area) so I'm afraid I can't add anything but PM me if you would like a contact who runs an outdoor business in Muonio.
Having got to the Norwegian Sea at Narvik, were you thinking of carrying on down the Lofoten Islands? They are quite a special mix of mountain and sea, and reputedly have a (relatively) mild winter climate for those latitudes. There is a ferry from Moskenes, at the western end of the chain, to Bodø on the mainland.
Nope, on this trip probably fly home from Tromso. But in the summer I might do Bergen-Nord Kapp, which will complete my Gib-Nord Kapp odyssey, and on that route the Lofotens could well be included.
She has also written a book about it due out shortly. I remember Helen came on here once to promote another book about riding to Cape Town. I read that one and enjoyed it enormously. Thread here
Thanks GW looks good so I have just ordered it. I read Cycling Home From Siberia so I am looking forward to reading of Helens experiences as well.
Makes me shiver just thinking about it.
People here might find a blog I came across about cycling in Alaska interesting. https://bjrn-olson.squarespace.com/journal/
Looks to me that fat bikes have revolutionised personal people powered transport in such areas.
