Cycling through Swaffham ... a long shot, but....

Should either of you be on CC, and should you have been the couple I saw this morning coming into Swaffham, yes you deserved to be well and truly yelled at by a pedestrian for cutting across the road to the pavement to miss out the traffic lights. Plus you were very lucky that it was me coming up the road after the lights when you decided to cut back onto the road without checking the traffic. Anyone else would have run you off the damned road, and tbh, you'd have pretty much deserved it.
Some of the most crap and unnecessary riding I've seen in a while.

It wasn't me but was it the crossing lights at the top of London Street, perchance? I've never understood why there's only a southbound bypass of that set and it wouldn't exactly be a surprise if a northbound cyclist made a late cut across to it to avoid stopping at changing lights. It's bad road design but then again, Swaffham's full of that and it doesn't excuse misbehaviour.

All together now: two wrongs don't make a right and there's no excuse for road rage.

It was there, yes, outside The George. They were coming up behind me when I was sat at the lights and they shot over to the other side of the road onto the pavement. Someone was going absolutely mental at them. The lights changed to green and by the time I was round the corner she at the front just wobbled down the pavement across the oncoming traffic and didn't even glance back down the road. He was a little more proactive and would have got out the way if it had all gone horribly wrong.
They were fortunate I had an idea what was going to happen.
Your average non-cycling car driver would have been accelerating at that point and hit her.

Different set to I was thinking of, actually. I meant the crossing south of the Market Place. I don't understand the motives for cutting onto the footway at the George junction - IIRC the roads are 20mph, the footways are narrow, there's good visibility of the lights so you can usually coast up to them without stopping and they're red mostly when there's conflicting motor traffic. Very strange.

Yeah, well done for avoiding them.

Do you throw bricks at speeding drivers from motorway bridges?

It wasn't me but I'll put the feelers out.

Just looked up Swaffam and on street view I can see a cyclist on the pavement outside the pedlars hall cafe...looks endemic up there..best of luck

You endorse hurting people who place people in danger on the roads. Is it just cyclists that deserve this or everyone?
I endorse? HTF do you work that one out? Get a farkin life Glenn.
I said they scooted round the lights on the pavement and wobbled back across two lanes of traffic and I gave them plenty of room. Please explain just how that means I endose hurting people on the road. Try re-reading and actually understanding the words.
Bye.
