I remember when I was young (que violins playing the hovis theme) I could climb on my old bike belt down the village at all most light speed (tounge in cheek) and only go past4 or 5 parked vehicles, and on one's way back up if I timed it correctly hitch a lift backup holding on to one of the factories trucks lol, so the film brings back some very nice memories thanks @Arjimlad for those !

Great bike - a Hetchens?
And a fixie as well with brake on the left as it should be. So retro it is almost modern.

"Overtaking an ambling car" on the nearside. What's wrong with that? If they see what you're up to,then get nasty and decide to put their foot down, then at least you're safe(ish) near the kerb. What happens if you overtake on their right side and they decide to put their foot down before you've safely pulled in? which has happened to me often?

Having her ride across the path of a moving car looked like an incredibly dangerous bit of stunt cycling. Chapeau Ms Hamilton!

And that was in the days of cars having drum brakes all round and no servo! (And being better styled).

I see cyclists committing all those sins now, so no change there.

Ha ha! Wouldn't get very far theses days by trying to hitch a lift with a lorry, they're generally going slower than me!
