What era was that in?
Early sixties as a very stupid 8 year old if any of my kids had done the same I would most likly have blown ones top lol, I also remember being able to play footie in the middle of the only road through the village until either the factory closed at 5:30 or the last bus at 7:0 and apart form the odd car we used to make matches last hours.

I'm a 70s era kid and I remember the road I grew up with very few cars, come late 80s when myself and all my mates could drive parking turned into a nightmare, but by this time a lot of the wives could drive and there was quite a few two car families, which was still quite rare

Greatest thing ever to happen in my neighborhood was this. We saw an Air Force cargo plane fly over, and drop a crate out. A parachute blossomed, and the crate came down a few miles away. We rode out there and found the army opening the crate. A sergeant gave us the drogue chute from the parachute. First, of course, many GI Joes had to be thrown off the roof of a few different houses with it, then we realized we could be like drag racers and use this parachute for bicycling shenanigans.

hahaha, love it

I remember being 14 or 15 and having seriously split my head open (resulting in 12 stitches), my mum was driving me to hospital and I was in bits, crying like a big girl but in my defence there was blood pishing into my eyes, she told me to stop crying so I did, a minute later she was like, are you OK? I said yes, why, she said you've stopped crying so I was just making sure you hadn't passed out. My reply "you told me to shut up", mums hey!

Oh and then at the hospital I apparently farted in the nurses face, not that I remember this, but my sister stills dines out on that story!
