Take spare clothing in panniers plus wipes, change in the gents.
If it's raining wear waterproofs, as you won't be able to dry your lycra.
Waterproofs can be drip dried on a spare chair or a coat hanger.

First time I have heard of anyone riding to a restaurant.
A sheltered life I lead.
I like @Bodhbh 's advice, but there would need to be a baths in the vicinity in the first place.
What's wrong with Public Transport ?

You never rode to a restaurant????
Cycling is fun
Anyway, the op might not have a car (like me) and public transport after hours could be random, like it is here if you live in the outskirts of town.

Never Pat.I'm finding that quite odd to be honest.
I can understand if it was part of my cycling day, like dropping in for a bit of lunch in a cafe, after tackling the trails.
Somewhere where I don't have to change into suitable attire like said restaurant.
Just seems an unnecessary hassle to me.Especially in London.
Oh well, each to their own I suppose.
Must be a roadie thing !!!^_^
Anyhoo,nearest local baths :okay:

I'm certainly not a roadie, hehe, as far as I can remember I rode to at least half a dozen restaurants and two nights out, no, telling a lie, 3 it was, in the 4 years I've been cycling instead of taking the bus.
OP, you can do it no problems!

I dunno, the OP may be on diet and want to earn his meal, or just like a logistical challenge...

I can't remember if I've actually cycled to an evening meal...it used to be the done thing to have a fry up Friday morning at work. I didn't want to podge out and was happy to put in the miles on early morning clear roads, so I'd go for a 20-30mile ride on the way in and stop at the local pool for a 40mins blast. I'd arrive at work fresh, but totally feeking starving. God those fryups tasted good, although the novelty did wear off in the end.

I think one or two joggers used to regualary do a similar thing - running in and stopping off for a swim to freshen up. I agree tho, if I was having a meal out I'd want a few drinks, which may or may not sit well with the ride home.

Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
I'd just get the train and have a drink stuff cycling home half scooped
Safer than walking home half scooped, cheaper and less full of lairy drunks than public transport where it exists.

Regarding part 2, is there any way to know if a restaurant has a cycle rack outside?
Go have a quick ride around the area in which you are planning on dining? Lots of restaurants and racks in the City for example...whether you can actually see the bike from your table is another matter...just take 2 D locks...or eat outside and pray for nice weather
