9 miles will take you 30 mins. There are bugger all traffic lights on the coast road. It's fine to cycle on, done it loads of times. There are only a few sections at 60 now and most is 40. Lots safer than urban traffic.

Ps working part time you won't be earning enough to take advantage of the cycle to work scheme anyway as it won't save you any tax. In my opinion an interest free loan from the bike shop is a better deal.

As for other perks, well in the real world, none. We get a ride to work day each month with £3 towards breakfast, but that's about the limit.

I reckon there's a 3 months rule on such things.... you're boss isn't going to consider a 12-24 repayment scheme until she/he is sure you're likely to be working there for 12-24 months at least.

I've been in my new job for 4 weeks now, and i won't ask for any holiday for another couple of months... just so i appear more into the job rather taking out of it until I've got my feet under the table.

It is a permanent position but part time and 5.5 hours a week. Not much but still work.

Not sure how you work that out Foss? Depends how the final payment option is set up.
