It doesn't work properly though.

With sponsorship the wealthy global companies pay you to display their branding.

With standard off the shelf clothing you pay the wealthy global companies to display their branding.

I prefer unbranded, or I cover or alter brands, or I use my own branding

I answered her question. It's about sponsorship.
Who cares if you cover or alter brands, that's not what S7ephanie was asking.

Well, I'm sorry I have an opinion!

If all posts that contained a little more information and/or opinion around the OP's post were removed then there would only be a miniscule number of forum posts. Besides, I didn't see where S7ephanie appointed you her personal thread police!

Also it isn't sponsorship unless the clothing is worn by someone who is being sponsored.

@s7ephanie
OK let's look at this shirt.
Innergetic is a Mattress company
Q8 is a pertoleum company
Omega Pharma is a pharmecutical company
Quick Step is a wooden flooring company

All these companies pay to have their names on the shirts by sponsorship so they get to advertise their companies of which helps to support a team..

I really don't like feeling like a billboard so tend to wear clothing that is as unbranded as possible. I do like the Wiggle-Honda strip though but that's because I like the colours (not the additional branding) and want the team to do well. And apparently they do men's sizes so it's probably only a matter of time....

thats the thing - i don't like all these adverts on shirts (unless you'r a pro) and even the ones in the shops have some things on them and loads of cyclists i see wear these billboards - doe's it make them feel more professional ? i have a couple of plain running/gym tops (anti sweat thingies) that i wear

Wearing pro tops is just the same as People wearing football tops when playing or even watching football.
Don't get me started on F1 nerds that own a 1.4 diesel and think they have something in common with Jenson Button, because they wear the same merchandise

Wear what you like and keep cycling

You can find unbranded cycling shirts here. I'm not a great fan of the back pocket, to fiddly to access. Wear what you like, Steph
