Oh- in 7 weeks of cycling - I've nearly been killed twice. Ho-hum.

That's the trouble, you get out of the woods with BP in one way, but it shoots up in others!

Anyway, well done, and may you continue to see the benefit.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm absolutely loving being back on a bike. I used to MTB race in my early twenties and just stopped. Forgot how great it is to be on two wheels.

It's going to be a permanent thing because I sold my car.

Looking forward to my next user name - Quite chunky in lycra!!!

.. but what about when you get to "looks great in lycra" ??

.. don't I just dream of getting to that stage? One day I'll get there. Still, I'll take the compliments from my next door neighbour and Littlest-LC's friend's mum in the meantime. Maybe if I could drop the "Lazy" ...

Congratulations to you .. excellent going.

Oh my! Good luck with that one, TffL!
Got rid of my car almost two years ago. Have regretted it on only about 8 or 9 occasions since.(the most recent being due to an excess of mud..).

Have fun ignoring the car insurance adverts...and well done!

That is really inspirational! I am having sleepless nights deciding whether to get rid of my car (which is starting to cost a bit of cash) and a) getting a little scooter (which I used to have 6 years ago) or B) having nothing and just relying on the OH's car or public tranny, oh and my bike.

You've given me food for thought BK.

Hi Badkitty, I'm in the process of doing this. My partner drives a C-Max which does everything we need and I have a transit for the business. I run the business as green as possible and now have couriers doing everything, which means the van can go. Originally I was going to get a small car as a replacement, however since I've been commuting by bike I've cycled everywhere so I'm mustering the gumption to let the van go and stay on the bikes.

Do you have any advice for the conversion to a car free(ish) existence?
