Ummmm - no? Not now, at any rate (thank goodness!)

Rule 76 - "Full details about the correct procedure at roundabouts are contained in Rules 184–190." (same rules as for all vehicles )
Rule 187 - "In all cases watch out for and give plenty of room to .....
  • cyclists and horse riders who may stay in the left-hand lane and signal right if they intend to continue round the roundabout. Allow them to do so."

Also check Rule 77 which gives advice on how to go around the in the left had lane (but stops short of saying you should)

"If you decide to ride round keeping to the left-hand lane you should..."

D and GV. Thanks for the clarification. You are right; it implies that cyclists might prefer to do use the left lane but, as you say, doesn't say you should. Cyclecraft, on the other hand, seems unequivocal in its advice.

Ah,gaz I can tell you don't know Brynaman Its like a stoneage Mosside with slag heaps ! When I go through there I close my eyes think of England and pedal like sheet ! Handing out a sentence gives its inhabitants street cred ^_^

On a more serious note this is a good example of not getting involved. There are nutters about on both 4 wheels and 2, trust me I have first hand experience ^_^
