So any further comment relating to the incident or similar such incidents would be inadvisable least one might hamper an investigation or risk contempt of court.

Eh?!?

It doesn't quite work like that. Believe it or not, the courts and solicitors don't spend time trawling the internet looking for comment on current cases.

No.......?

Perhaps they spend time trawling it for other stuff.

You're a solicitor aren't you and you spend enough time on here......... so point proved.

No seriously if there was a discussion on here that involved a particpant/participants of a case in whatever capacity and it became evident it originated from here when a case was still sub-judicae then it might get a bit tricky. People discuss stuff on here and one really doesn't don't know who they are.....

Off topic Reggie - is a bicycle a vehicle or not? What's the defining authority? My belief is that it is very definitely not but I might be wrong. Coruskate on another thread thinks a bicycle is a vehicle.

IMO it's quite believable the attack was arbitrary and unprovoked. Cycling along an otherwise deserted track in a cutting during daylight hours I passed 3 youths. Plenty of space didn't give them more than a glance but after I passed them rocks started landing round me. Strangely enough I just had a feeling about them as I passed and was able to quickly speed off beyond their reach. I'm sure they had the missiles ready to hand.

As it's a route I often use, I've been back frequently but no sign of the cowardly shites.

The article states there was an altercation preceeding the attack so it is likely that is what started it.

Makes you think about the dangers of swearing at people who cut you up on the roads.
