Cyclist Down: York

Sadly it has been announced earlier today that a cyclist involved in a collision with a pedestrian in York yesterday has died. The incident was on the section of Route 658 between James Street and Melrosegate. This is a well used shared route and one I travel on a lot, although mostly on foot.

I have probably missed the details, but it surely must have been series of unfortunate events to lose your life in a head on with a pedestrian.

The gist: Drunk chap on borrowed 'modified' ebike clips pedestrian and interfaces with the terrain causing fatal head injuries.

It seems my initial assumptions weren't far off the mark, it was a series of unfortunate events that led up to this incident. Terrible
