Cyclist down

[Aperitif]

Just heard of a cyclist and lorry incident on local radio in London. Southwark Bridge.
Upper Thames St - long delays...serooius accident apparently.

 

[Bug]

I rode past it today - they'd closed Southwark Bridge Road and Upper Thames Street in both directions at the point they meet. There were two of those asphalt lorries stopped in the middle of the road and what looked like a black bike on the central reservation. The cyclist had obviously been taken away by the time I got there (about 08:10), but there were a lot of police around. I just hope that the cyclist didn't get killed.

I heard that on the news on LBC had to drive in today. Said cyclist did apparently get killed. A sad reminder to all of us how vunderable we are on a bike sympathies with the family of the cyclist and also the lorry driver. Lives of two familiies ruined.

Damn. I heard about an accident on the radio and cycled through the consequent traffic congestion. I feared it would be another cyclist taken out at Southwark Bridge. Bad news.
