Cyclist Killed Essex

About a week late, but I didn't notice it here before.

Very strange, sounds like the cyclist was in the wrong place at the wrong time and the crash was nothing to do with him being there. Even odder that two people were arrested.

Just found a bit more. That's 3 arrests

Steven Rodway, 38, died when his bike was in collision with a Puma car on the A113 Ongar Road, close to the Passingford Bridge roundabout, at 7.10pm on Sunday.
Police have arrested the driver of a blue Transit van that was travelling in the same direction as the cyclist on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
The 46-year-old man, from Loughton, has been interviewed and released on police bail until September 15 while enquiries continue.

I know that area very well (when me and me mates used to ride from Brentwood to Stanford Rivers to go fishing).

It was always a potentially dangerous road, but only because of the stupidity and recklessness of boy (girl) racers!

Arrest seems commonplace now whenever serious motoring offences are alleged. Has there been some change that makes it difficult to question without arrest and caution?

I heard about this a couple of days ago and it hit home for me as it is part of the road and route that I am on most frequently. It has always been a fast bit of road especially with the motor bikers and this accident was always going to happen I'm afraid.
