I had a lorry wait behind me up a short gradient yesterday. He overtook well as we approached some lights and left loads of room for me to pass into the ASL (the road splits, so I had a twenty foot wide escape route and could safely pass on the nearside). I looked back and up at the driver once I reached the ASL in order to make "eye contact". I got a big grin and a thumbs up.

Wonder what sort of bike he rides!

Its the Pump island, Dartmouth Circus - not the one on the BBC. That's the one with the big green early steam pump on it.

Been over it a few times. Always take a big breath and an agressive line on it, even in the car. You really have to command your road space and look out for cars on all sides.

I don't think I've gone over that particular roundabout, but all the roundabouts on the inner ring road seem to have been designed to be as unpleasant as possible.
