If you look carefully there appears to be a large hole which "leads" into a crack by the drain hinge, it would certainly grasp a thin road tyre

... all the more reason he should've been riding nearer to the white line, rather than in the gutter!

There's a lesson here somewhere!

Did my weekly search for cycling stories online and found this:

http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/news..._to_hospital_after_falling_into_hole_1_967438

Had a look on googlemaps and it looks as if he's come around the corner and straight over the barrier. Can anyone from Norwich pinpoint the exact location?

It makes me think of how works are treated on local cycle routes - never any forewarning, you can essentially come around the corner and find yourself face to face with it. Its different if its a road (warning signs at junctions and often before bends, printed on travel info websites etc)

i have to give my utmost respect to this bus driver - i wish more of the bus driving weapons round these here parts were like him. as for the cyclist, i'm glad he's alright but he shouldn't have been about to filter up the inside of the next bus - at least that's why i think he decided upon the route he took...it did make me laugh though
