A lot of posts seem to focus on cyclists versus drivers, but it's not until you see cyclists getting violent with each other you remember that at least 30% of other people are knobs no matter what they ride/drive!

Cycling back today I was behind another cyclist as we approached the cycle contraflow lane to a bus lane. Unfortunatly there's another cyclist coming the other way and neither give way to the other.

I don't particularly like other cyclists using it the wrong way but it is the only way to get up to use the toucan crossings - if you don't fancy using the normal lights at a quite busy intersection. I have almost hit another guy coming down it at speed when they can use the bus lane which is wide and quiet. It's the junction on the A4174 towards UWE for any Bristolians.

I don't know what was said but it was less than a seconds worth of conversation, and the guy infront of me gave the other cyclist a big shove as he was going past. Fortunatly the other guy kept his balance and cycled off shouting, "What a tosser!" :becool:

They both cycled off so I didn't get to chat to either, but don't think just because someone's on two wheels they're going to be your mate!

What annoys me is the people who cycle the wrong way along contraflow cycle lanes.

And cyclists who don't use mudguards in the rain when they are right in front of you. I hate unwanted showers.

Reconsider your rather snotty, prejudiced assumptions.

Tell the arrogant S.o.b not to overtake me spraying a shower of road filth as he passes. Not using mudguards in the rain and then ploughing through traffic is deeply anti social..

Obviously I've hit the sports car section of the chatroom. The ownership of power gives the owner the right to screw everyone else on the road........

I don't mind being overtaken. I do mind bathing unnecessaily in other people's filth. Spurting fountains of roadwater behind you is indefensible.

Bike Salmon.

I dislike that too, although I tend to be able to get out of the way of most of them, chuckling at their bike stripe as I pass.

I am shocked at how a couple of verbal exchanges can result in one cyclist shoving another off his bike - it could have injured him and at the very least would have hurt if he had come off!

God only knows what was said! I tell myself not to say anything to people when they cut me up or do something stupid but in the heat of the moment it's easy to come out with "stupid tw*t" and so on!

I'm gonna get a slap one day!!!

As for the mudguards - or lack of them what a pain in the arse they are - can't understand how anyone can cycle around in the rain without them anyway - I had to do it a couple of times and I got absolutely soaked and my clothes got ruined etc etc!

I agree not too easy to get past them in traffic sometimes and half the time the buggers overtake you by going through a red or something anyway!

You should try the Contraflow in Jewry Street at Aldgate in London. Even motorbikes use it to get up to the traffic lights quicker.

I won't be putting mud guards on the road bike any time soon. if you can't handle a bit of water you should probably take the bus,
