Didn't one of the London camera cyclists on here report that a driver had got points as a result of their vid of a truck left-hooking a cyclist in spite of the cyclist not making a complaint?

I don't think i personally would have took the ASL if there was a singular car. It does irate drivers if they feel you have pushed in and what is the point in holding them up when they only then have to overtake you later on, and probably do so quite impatiently bcoz they are pissed off at you. I only filter to an ASL when there's a queue and i know I'll miss the next round of lights. However, the cyclist did nothing wrong other than confront an impatient nobber. Said nobber broke the law throughout. He should be prosecuted for entering the ASL which he clearly did illegally with no mitigating circumstances, thus causing the issue, and then he should also be prosecuted for assault. The cyclist didn't break the law (altho he might have broke the speed limit trying to catch him up to finish the conversation which, if you watch again, the car driver clearly started )

I wouldn't bother. The driver would be able to get off on an argument of 'self defence' of myself and my property due to the way the cyclist came to his window. The camera shows him deliver one punch, and then stand back - he doesn't even follow it up with threatening behaviour.

Yes, his driving was poor, and no the cyclist certainly wasn't 'asking' for it - I'm not saying that, but I believe the driver would have a defence in law, based on what can be seen on the camera.

Moral of the story - leave it at pointing out the ASL if you must - don't chase down drivers just to vent your spleen at them. It could have finished much wise for that cyclist if the driver hadn't left it at one punch and had followed up with further kicks while the guy was down. (which would have been assault, but would it be worth it!)

Pretty nasty video just gone up on YouTube - apologies if already posted on here but I haven't seen it if it has
The chap who filmed it is looking for the cyclist who got punched by the Audi driver (or passenger? - not too clear)
Might be interesting to hear opinions about how the cyclist in the clip handled the situation and if he may have added to the outcome. TBH I think I may have acted in the same way as the cyclist and certainly wouldn't think, like some of the posters on YT, I would deserve the response (it also wouldn't have ended there, I can assure you)...
Note - I'm not saying the cyclist handled the situation perfectly, just that the response seems a little disproportionate.

Ok, I really think this should be in Commuting but what the hell.....

The driver was defended in the car. He had nearly two tonnes of German engineered defence. Surely making the special effort to get out of the car and deck someone means that self defence is pretty much out of the window. I'm no fan of the cyclist's actions, but the driver was the only one swapping fists.

The bike is blocking the front door at 1:09 then at 1:13 someone is out of the car, the bike is still infont of the door. Surley the bike hasnt moved thaway from the door, then the door opened, a guy got out, closed the door and the cyclist has got back infront of the door in 4 seconds?
