I saw a cyclist tonight off Bishopsgate.
High Vis vest
High vis rucksak
Flashing Aldi reflective armbands just below his elbows
Flashing lights on his wrists
2 rear lights

I didn't see him from the front so don't know what he had pointing forward. It all looked clean and new.

I think the " I saw a cyclist " bit means mission accomplished.

Passed a guy last night in almost total darkness, he had little blinking lights on the front not great but good enough. What surprised me was he was wearing black sunglasses????

I think, the more lights the better, I have a CatEye Single Shot plus augmented for the off road bit and unlit lanes with 2 * Tesco 3 watt LED torches, I think if I can convince drivers its soemthing bigger than a bike then thats a good thing on an unlit lane.

Usually a bad thing. If they see two lights and assume it's a car, the short distance between the lights is going to lead them to think you're a LOT further away than you are. If you're approaching a side-junction at speed, that is not a recipe for a happy evening.

IMV, you want to be seen, but definitely not mistaken for a car.

Yeah I have different front lights on flashing on steady.

Also found that Fenix worked on those temporary lights on yesterdays early morning commute at Stratford.(They changed quickly)

Agree with this in principle, but then use of "bikey" reflectives gives more shape to the target, and especially reflective ankle bands. Allows a clearer idea of what is behind the twin lights, rather than just the disorientation of a twin light set up.

Problem can also be overcome using one steady & one flashing light.
