Cyclists hold up cars, don't they?

This driver was behind me, pulled out and then pulled in front of me, slowing me down. Mildly annoying, nothing more. However I spotted an opportunity to take revenge...

I love my new bike!

Ha! And yet some tell me I post too many negative videos. Would you prefer that I had been knocked off my bike?

Anyway, there have been posters, in the past, who have questioned my speed. Just thought I'd set the record straight.

Let me add, that there was no tail wind assistance in this clip, honest  (anyway cars would get the same benefit wouldn't they?)

I think you might have a problem, Magna.

a) the driver did nothing wrong;

 you, for no apparent reason, then block off the OUTSIDE lane for about 20 seconds while you made your point.

Calm down, and go a bit slower, pal.

A.

Oh boy! Has everyone had a humour extraction recently!

Look the driver caused a very mild annoyance. Read what I wrote! He was sat behind me, pulled out and into the space I was closing down between me and the lorry. I had to take my foot off the power. It is typical must pass the cyclist mentality.

I then pull out into the EMPTY (note this) outside lane with NO-ONE (note this as well) close behind for the whole time I was there (if a car did what I did would you claim he was blocking the lane). I passed the car that had passed me. I felt a little smug and enjoyed it. What I enjoyed most was the fact that I was not only keeping up with free flowing traffic, but travelling faster than it. Yippee. Good fun!

And Mr allen-uk, PAL, I'm sorry, I wasn't at all calm. I was in fact quite enjoying myself. Sorry!

Why should he go slower?

I would have probably used the outside lane to overtake the lorry as well.
Can't see anything wrong with that.
Overtake by the car wasn't dangerous or rude but it was pointless.

I hope you gave the first cyclist that you overtook a bollocking for not riding in primary position and riding on the line between two lanes.

was it downhill magnatom?
get on the drops btw for even more speed - or were you trying to stop yourself speeding?.

P.S. To claim I was blocking the lane when I was doing between 28 and 29mph on a 30mph road is a little perplexing!

Exactly Bonj. The overtake was completely pointless, not dangerous, but pointless.

I didn't say anything to the cyclist, as I was passing him too fast. In fact he was almost like looking at myself from about 3 years ago. He was riding the same bike as my other bike and probably cycling like I did at the start. Spooky! :bicycle:

Up to the first set of lights was downhill, then flat for most of it, and then a little uphill after the railway bridge.

I would probably have done the same thing

I've had people overtake, then slow down so I've had to overtake them to carry on doing the speed I was doing .

Don't really think the driver did anything that wrong to be honest, you'd of had to have slowed down for the lorry and it's not like he shot past and cut in.
