I don't get why some people think everyone else ought to acknowledge them all the time just because they happen to be on bikes. If they do, fine, if not, fine too.

If I nodded at every other cyclist I saw on my commute, my head would fall off, and most of them would think I was some sort of loon.




BTW, does this sound ever so slightly like sour grapes? How dare some newbie come past me, and never even say hello...

How can you tell if someone's just started?. Do they ride a Raleigh or something? (not that riding a Raleigh's a problem...)

What I meant by that was as if they had just pulled off the driveway, not that they were new to cycling.
