A "gang initiation rite", apparently. Or are these youths subscribers to Narrowboating World?

Incidentally, I popped over to see what the Narrowboaters think of this spate of "harmless fun"; they do acknowledge it via a straight-bat article.

Somehow, dicing with death down Walworth Road and Camberwell Green now seems rather more appealing than a commute in the opposite direction.

I always try and stay on the 'dry' side of canal and riverbanks when cycling past people I think might be acting a bit suspicious. Can't always do it easily though as some of the banks are quite narrow.
