I once rescued a sheep trapped in deep mud in Scotland.

On another occasion (this time in Yorkshire) I extricated a lamb which had managed to get between a wire fence and the crumbling stone wall behind it. Its ungrateful mother obviously thought that I was up to no good and kept butting me while I was bent over the fence!
