Just out of interest which one? and how do you know it is mucky? Answers on A4 pad
Lack of knowledge of the classics, another indication of our crumbling society:sad:.
What are they teaching in our school bike sheds nowadays?

Riding home in the dark, wind & rain last night there was a certain camaraderie amongst commuting cyclists which has been hitherto non-existent. Friendly waves and raised eyebrows at the unfavourable conditions aplenty.

I always try to make a point of waving or saying hello. Just seems like the decent thing to do :hugs:

Bought an old motorhome in the summer and didnt realise the drivers of such motorized homes mostly wave at each other too! :hello::hello:

it amazes me that a lot of cyclists dont reply or acknowledge
It's certainly context related though. On weekends out in the Chilterns I can't remember the last cyclist who *didn't* say hello. In town on the daily commute pretty much no-one. Actually the last one was a police officer (cycling) who was very friendly.

In the woods a little while ago, a group of half a dozen mountain bikers went past. Young men with all the gear. Every single one of them greeted my two year old on his balance bike. Put a huge smile on my face for the rest of the morning.

Out of the metropolis, certainly around here and particularly in the hills most people acknowledge each other. I quite regularly chat with other cyclists at traffic lights, not normally instigated by me either. I don't differentiate if the person is riding a bike, walking or on a horse. There may not be a brotherhood of cyclists but there is a brotherhood of man.

Ah. I always talk to horseriders (partly because of the need to alert the horse that it's going to see something strange) and to dog walkers. I find these are interesting people that I'd quite like spend some of my precious time (please see the thread on road rules to discover how every second lost on a commute is a second less doing something else) conversing with. Cyclists less so.

Yebbut; did your two year old just draw his eyes away from them and ignore the nobbers because they were on MTB's? If not, he needs further training to make it as a REAL cyclist!
