No - its just a function of where you are - the screw on type are more common in Scandinavia - Germany France is camping gas

I compiled this a little while back

CampingGaz are by a long way the market leaders in Spain and Italy too. That said, the CampingGaz screw-on type seems to be becoming more widely available. And, as Coleman own CampingGaz you may also see the Coleman EU standard cartridges alongside.

Northern Europe (i.e. Czech Republic...) may be different, though?

Yes quite probably - I'd expect German companies to have more market share.

If psmiffy says you can get them you can get them. But I'd carry a list of specialist shops and have a Plan B - whether that's an adapter or a soda can meths stove.

Nearly all my recent European touring over the last four years I have used a Trangia stove. I am sure I could have got by using gas, but meths is so easy to find, its available in almost any supermarket, its cheap about 2 euro per litre. These stoves are lovely to use. The only time I might use gas, perhaps, in the UK where meths is so expensive.
Sorry not much help to the OP.
