My first DAB radio was rubbish & I thought it was the signal. I was forever moving it about to try to get a decent signal. I replaced it with a Pure and it's been fine. I generally only use that one when I want a non-FM station but I've also got a Pure radio-alarm now and that works fine in DAB mode.

They pushed DAB very hard for a while and threatened to get rid of the FM stations altogether but they seem to have given up that idea.

I've been listening to Radio4 Extra just recently. It comes as a surprise to realise those 'comedy' shows you once thought were great, were in fact about as funny as a dose of the clap.

I get the DAB signal cutting out during the pips each hour on R4 on one set. Not sure why that could be.
I think most, if not all stations on DAB are in mono too (so they can cram in as many stations as possible on a bandwidth) which means if you are a music fan you are better off with FM, or internet for better sound.
I suspect with internet radio now, and superior FM sound, the DAB thing is dead and buried before it really got started.

The only DAB radio in my home is used as an alarm clock, if I actually want to listen to the radio I'll use a small portable FM radio.

Otherwise I use an old android phone with a Bluetooth speaker to listen to anything else, like BBC radio player, or FIP or radio monte carlo etc..
I often wonder why they allow the pips to be broadcast on DAB - the highly accurate time check delivered at various times of lateness depending on what make and model your dab radio is.
Thanks, you reminded me that I haven't wound the clock this week.

DAB radio? You very much get what you pay for. A cheap DAB radio is like buying a cheap computer. It may work, but not well. If you use complex modulation systems it inevitably cost more to produce a decent result.
