You were all so lovely when my dad was in hospital, I thought I'd give you an update.

He has been back in hospital for a week now. He was still in a lot of pain and his foot wasn't healing and they have discovered why.
He has a blockage in the artery in his leg, between the thigh and knee.
The consultant is having the anaesthetist assess him for surgery early this coming week as it's a major operation...taking another artery from his leg and replacing the blocked one with it...if he says it's too risky then we have to meet with the consultant again to discuss.

That's where we're at.

Are they replacing the artery with another artery or are they using the saphenous vein? Has he had, or is he expected to need cardiac surgery? Why can't they stent or graft the artery? Which city is this in? This is all professional but I want to know a lot, don't I?
