I have a small blue cotton stripey shoulder bag from somewhere in South America which I bought from TUMI in Bath when they had a shop back in 1987!. It's been all over the place with me, including the USA and survived three Glasto festivals. It's almost 30 now and has started to fray a bit. It's really useful and has multiple zip compartments. I'm gonna miss it if it 'dies'.

I still have a habit and my Office. I've also got a flak jacket and blue helmet in the loft at my mother's.

User, do you mind if I ask what an Office is in this context?

I have an "I ran the world" tee shirt from sometime in the 1980s, and some sports tops from when I was at university - I'll never wear them, or the lovely warm college scarf, because they all have "XYZ College" printed on them and I'd feel embarrassed, but I can't bring myself to get rid of them.

If I am reading it right, it is the book of daily prayers used in both Catholic and CofE rites. They are prayers said at certain times of the day, such as Morning Prayer (Lauds), Evening Prayer (Vespers) and Nightime Prayer (Compline).

Is that broadly right @User?

Why not get somebody to make you a copy? There are plenty of crafts people in markets who could do that.

My grandma's old writing desk, it has nowhere to fit in our house and doesn't match the decor but I loved sitting at it drawing when I was younger and lived with her for a bit so it was always going to be mine.

I have my recently departed hound Barney's collar nametag on my keyring now. This is an event, I hate faffy keyrings full of trinkets and gonks and crap.

Too many things to list fully. But I have two memories from my ancestors, both which are triumphs of hope over reality.
1. My Great Grandfather's patent certificate. About 2 years before the car was invented he devised a better way of dividing stables in stalls.
2. My Grandfather's company stamp, used for the issuing of share certificates. He was the chairman of North Eastern Piers and lived the dream for over 40 years of building a pier at Whitley Bay. Sadly this was killed off by the 2nd world war and then package holidays.

Invented by my great grandfather around the turn of the last century, US patent taken out by my Grandfather in 1928, still be made by my fathers company into the mid 1970's, probably many still in use all over the world

He also invented the Crompton Silent Ash Hoist
Which was a (very noisy) bucket and chain conveyor belt for chucking ash from the boiler over the side of a ship
(I cant imagine what environmentalists would say today ....)
Unfortunately, ships moved away from steam in the early 1940's

I'm pretty certain my wife has both of our daughters' first shoes. I think she has hidden them in the loft along with every Christmas card, birthday card, Mother's Day card, drawings and all sorts of other stuff connected with them. 30 years worth! Even their cot.
