Yeah funny when you think of the age of some of these objects. I have a cactus of my Dads that is 85 yrs old. Doesn't look it either.

My grandfather worked at Rolls Royce Derby and during the war he worked on Merlin and later Griffon engines, they not only built new engines but also rebuilt engines that were in service - I have the top half of a Griffon piston that he used as an ashtray, it would've been a used piston that was beyond tolerances to be reused, to this day I sometimes wonder what stories it could tell.

Thwrs a big old piston. Mind you, the Griffon was a monster of a motor.
