It looks like the best Sunday for going out on my bike so far this year. And I am sat here at my computer and can't go out! Friday night we were out for a meal and a drink, an hour after we got back I was feeling rough, by four in the morning I had my head down the toilet, I spent most of yesterday under a blanket on the sofa, I spent most of last night on the toilet, today its all calmed down and I'm feeling better but darent go out. So I'm sat here looking out the window cursing under my breath.

Well looking out of the window it is drizzling and a bit foggy. I can't decide whether or not I should go and cycle the 60 mile round trip to my friends or drive. Metcheck says it light rain with snow showers from 15:00 onwards and Met Office says sunny intervals and low level cloud. So now I'm a bit confused.

Awwww Dave poor you, I feel sorry for you. It does sound like food poisoning yes. I had it once, years ago, from a Chinese I ate, chicken in black bean sauce, even now, typing that, makes me feel ;)

Get well soon.

xx;)

Looks horrible out there so I can't be bothered.

Sounds like food poisoning to me.

Off to Decathlon instead.....got to take back some gloves my wife bought -way to big, then I can have the 'credit' to get more energy drink supplies (my wife keeps using it for the fitness classes and it's nearly run out).....

What did you eat for dinner that turned you sick so quickly, dave r!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no Idea, my suspicions lie with the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream. The pub is one we have been eating at quite regularly since we moved up here two years ago, about once a month when I was in work. Its a bit basic but me and the misses can have a meal and a drink together for less than thirty quid.

Bright sunshine here and warmer than it has been recently.

 I know how you feel! Had the flu earlier this month and still got a rotten chest infection. I can barely walk into UNI without spluttering my guts up. Only had 4 good days this year

Hope you get better too!!

Sounds too quick to be food poisioning from your dinner.

I'd be looking back at what else you ate that day.

Learned on a sickness course at work years ago about excuses people come up with for phoning in sick and 9 times out of 10 the "I'm ill this morning because I ate something dodgy for my dinner last night" is a lot of rubbish.

It will be the ice cream. Ice cream that had been allowed to melt then re-frozen nearly killed me in Pakistan, got my wife in Scotland too at one of those farm cafe places.

Typically the symptoms will come on about 5 hours after you eat.

Avoid all dairy products for the next few days or it will come back, the bacteria are milk-loving.

I've eaten a couple of things that have disagreed with me quite quickly so it's not typical foodpoisoning which takes longer to affect you but it's still foodpoisoning of a sort isn't it?

Pheasant eggs didn't agree with me

edit: Hope you're mended now Dave, taking it easy today might be better than a bike ride.

Interesting, the sweet was the only thing I had and the misses didn't, I didn't realise ice cream could be so lethal. Now trying to figure out how to suvive the next few days without my morning bowl of porridge.
