Stupid SPD's need tightening after my knackers took a beating on the top tube tonight.
Stopped at a red light and though I'd have time for a drink.
Left foot out of SPD and on the floor. Taking a nice big swig of water the van in front started to move.
With Traffic behind I rushed getting the water bottle back in the cage and attempted a quick off.
Unfortunately as I was starting to push with my right foot taking my left foot off the ground the right foot decided to un-clip.
Followed by the very unsightly bashing of my knackers on the top tube and me then scuttling away to the side of the road for a little rest & recuperation

Ouch!

Bottles are bastards when it comes to inflicting pain and surprise.

You have my sympathy.

I oncemissed the cage on the seat post when descending at speed (not pedalling).

Suddenly my rear locked, when I still had one hand trying to find my bottle cage.

As you all know (but I didn't at the time) I'd shoved my bottle into the brake cable and applied the brake.

That is not a good time or place to lock the rear wheel, what with one hand being off the bars and the whole plot being slightly wobbly.

Even now I am unbelievably over-careful putting a bottle back into the cage on the seat post....

Bottles.... Hah!

I admire the way that you were utterly blameless, the cleats, the bottle, the pedals, everything to blame bar you
