Just watching dangerous drivers on Channel 5. Some of the driving that has been filmed is just shocking, especially the young lad.

Driving the car whilst driving with just his KNEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and also using mobile phone.

As this bad driving was filmed on the public highway would it not be considered a driving offence? Just because it is been filmed for a TV program, does not give you permission to break the law.

So can this footage from the TV program be shown to the police to enable prosecution to be carried out?

I'm not watching it as I can do without the anger and annoyance it would cause me.

Having seen the trailers the drivers on the show should be banned for life from using (driving or not) any road vehicle.

Started to watch it but as I felt my blood pressure rising switched it off. I only hope that when selfish idiots like that young lad driving with no hands whilst eating a Maccy D crash they only kill / injure themselves.

They know that they have cameras in the car filming there every move. They have shown footage of the drivers of what I would call dangerous.

If someone contacted the police regarding this program could the footage be used as evidence?

I don't think that going out with a driving instructor will help these sorts of people out that drive this bad.

I often wonder this about programs showing borderline criminal behaviour... aren't the programme makers guilty of withholding evidence in some cases when an offence has clearly been shown and 'they' clearly know the name, age, address, etc of the offender... but in the case of Dangerous Drivers and many other fly on the wall 'docs'... i wonder how scripted they are, and if there are health and safety regs they must abide by (ie, duel controls plus a qualified instructor. After all it's TV and not really real life.

Last week there was a young chap who was constantly texting etc when he was driving - i hope he gets nicked for it. He actually said he couldn't drive faster (normally goes about 20 mph) cos he wouldn't be able to play on his phone!!!!!

If its been filmed on a public road then surely its a criminal act. Just because its a TV program for entertainment does not give them immunity from the law.

But saying that, they will probably say that the no hands driving whilst eating was filmed on a private road.

I am just so shocked by this TV program. I am lost for words.

And somehow you just know where all his Maccy D rubbish ended up

And he had a cracking girlfriend - how on earth does that work?!

Watched it as my son loves this - I think he will be a copper when he is older. This highlights why we can't believe driver behaviour - some right nutters out there. frightening, but us commuters see this every day. Chill cars are rubbish. You want high speed thrill, get a bike, muddy fun version, or high speed poop pants road bikes. So glad I got a very good road bike at 16 and not a car or motorbike.

Surely there's an element of incitement? Look at the programme name, it's in their interests to catch the worst behaviour!

If i'm honest, the fast over cocky drivers on the show aren't the ones that concern me, it is the old women who have no idea how useless on the road they are. They are as much as liability as the others. It scares me. It really does.
