I had a complete plank try and take me out today. Not only did this plank try and take me out, but nearly took out the car coming in the opposite direction. I have reported this plank to the police and I am waiting to see what the outcome is. I am wondering should I post the footage up or not?. The clip also contains a lot of profanity and blasphemy. Afterwards I was so cooked up on adrenaline that I was spitting feathers with the red mist starting to kick in.

Anyway a synopsis of what had happened. I was riding along, I had noticed there was the lorry behind me and thought that he would wait till there was a safe spot to pass. This drivers idea of a safe spot was a 5 second gap in the on coming traffic. It was a big enough gap for a car maybe, but a lorry would have had a snowballs chance in hell of being able to overtake safely. As a result I have to brake hard and swerve into the kerb where I nearly get dragged under the wheels. The car coming the opposite direction has to also brake and swerve to avoid being taken out.

You can "half post"

There is an option on YouTube to limit the access to those you give the link to. This keeps it out of the public arena (which I assume is your concern), but allows a select few to see it.

Ok here is the video, but if need be I will pull it. Dangerous overtake
Lunatic overtake. Not surprised you, er, edited the soundtrack!

I do hope you write and give Walkers Crisps a pice of your mind too!

[QUOTE 1150610"]Don't think I'm having a go but you can quite clearly see you moving over to the left before the truck overtook. Show the door to some motorists and they will drive straight through it. Next time hold your line and have a look round over your shoulder.

Some sound advice.

I hope you complain about that one.

Very nasty! That oncoming car is clearly visible long before the lorry hoves into view, so no excuse that he thought he had enough distance...

I can only compare it with the meticulous care with which I pass cyclists, when I'm in the car. Why, last Monday, in the car, I held back behind a cyclist for almost half a mile, before I found a safe spot to pass allowing at least a car's width. OK so it's me blowing my own trumpet, I don't claim any brownie points for this, only doing what every driver ought to do...

Try to nail this idiot. The evidence is there!

Yeah that was a little bit close and at a guess that was in the Midlands somewhere? Walkers have a distribution centre in Leicester which at a guess is where that truck is based.

Lee if i'm not mistaken that was a "flinch", the life-preserving move when your sixth sense tells you that something very bad is about to happen. If you want to hold your line against 38 tons of appallingly driven truck good luck to you.

Walkers will have a fleet manager - should definitely have a word with him/her.

+1

Don't mention the video though!

From experience there is a nasty trick you can play.....

Complain giving details, and ask for a reply.

Driver normally either denies or gives a different story.

You reply with video proving the driver is a liar as well!

Few managers like being lied to.

Yes it was indeed a flinch. The lorry was well on its way to overtaking me when I moved over slightly, you can't see it on the camera as it is fixed to my handlebars
