Danny Dyer can only play Danny Dyer, Man is a whimp.:okay:
Like Sean Connery and Roger Moore could 'act', they were both fantastic at playing themselves though (the John Wayne 'method' )

Idris Elba as Bond would depend upon whether you are filming a script that (as with so many others) has no relationship to the original Bond

It would be difficult to place Elba in any past script as the ability to impersonate is compromised by his colour

Why is his skin colour of any more significance than his hair colour or his accent?

Shame he is no longer with us, but Alan Rickman would have been brilliant

quite ! Can't really see how it would have made much difference in any of them - apart from maybe a few minor changes to Live and Let Die

The latest Felix being a black guy made no difference, or the new Moneypenny - so what?

That is why I stated about the previous scripts

The Bond films usually have Bond impersonating characters that a black actor could not pull off. They are set in an era and political environment where a black actor would not be able to accomplish the plot

Think of the number of time Bond has worn a Russian uniform?

If as with so many of the previous scripts you ignore the original Bond and write a script specifically for Elba it may work, but unfortunately it would need to be a tailor made script

Yes, and Sean Connery was very convincing as a Japanese peasant.

hardly an issue though. I dare say there there ar a few Cubans who've ended up seconded to the Russian military. Would hardly need to labour it.

It's not as if you're casting a black guy as Queen Victoria is it?

I've seen a rather good King Lear (Derek Jacobi) where without any need to explain his daughter Cordelia being played by a black girl. Or an excellent Ophelia as the only black girl in the Danish Court - unfortunely rest of that particular Hamlet was very poor, but she was superb.

Like the rest of it is remotely believable or credible!
