Sorry, probably did not make my post very clear -
I was on the line of your post being that if we had a black or female Bond that the situation and back story would need to be written is a way to support this casting.
My post was saying that basically the whole thing is a crock of unbelievable sh** that stands no scrutiny anyway.

That is that is the issue for many films, do you write a script and (shock horror) actually stick to the original book and characters, then cast an actor to fulfil that role by acting?

Or do you select an actor, and then write a script that is designed for that actor?

Thus getting to the point where (again in too many cases) the Actor is simply being themselves and not actually acting

IIRC the Bond franchise is remarkable absence of Oscar awards

...... and those they have achieved are for technical or soundtrack
