Looks like they're headlining T in the Park. Here's hoping for them doing London Calling or such this summer.

P.S. My tickets for the sellout Sigur Ros shows turned up today.

Here are the details as to the lengths she went to to get them:

On the day they went on sale she organised her travel arrangements to be at Newbury Services for 7:30, at the allocated time she went online and, as you discovered, so did everyone else. She kept refreshing the page until she got a message that said that the sales would now be telephone only, so she got back into her car, carried on her journey and had two phones contuinually on redial in the car, without getting through, until she got to her destination. When she got in to start work she commandeered as many phones as she could, she had 5 phones on the go, on redial all day until she got through.
She finally got through at about 17:30, by then the only days tickets available were the ones she got.
There's dedication for you eh?

The real p*ss off about the situation was that at first they (Tate) said it would be web sales only, then when that crashed they said telephone sales only, and then the b*stards went and flogged them to people who turned up at the Tate on the day.

Yes they were totally overwhelmed but their main priority seemed to be to sell out on the first day, by whatever means.
Console yourself though that the queue at Tate Modern was huge and very slow because I think the sellers had similar system speed issues. I was there but ducked out of queueing as I was meeting a friend but talked to the lady managing the queue. She was telling everyone there to keep calling the phone line. The way it worked was that the phone system would accept a tranche of callers into an ordered, managed queue in one go when the previous tranche had been dealt with. You had to have called at that particular time to get into the managed queue to have a chance, otherwise you were just bounced out.

I wish I had gone in person and queued at 10 am now...

So, Kraftwerk are in residency at the Tate Modern for the next week, surely common knowledge on Earth ?
Ah, that was what it was about. I caught a snippet on the Beeb recently, of one of them explaining why they had stopped live performances in the late 80s, "Well, all bands have a shelf life, and if you carry on touring live gigs you just turn into zombies, like the Rolling Stones".

Made Oi laff.

.....and they were utterly brilliant last night.

The 3D effects were impressive but not a distraction from the music.
