Well that's it. Date set (ish) for 22nd March. Leaving Dudley. heading for Stranraer in South-West Scotland. Ferry to Belfast, ride to Dublin. Ferry to Holyhead and back home.
Solo, camping and unsupported, been in my head for a few years but something's always cropped up to spoil it.
Can't wait.

Nice one. I've got something similar planned, it sounds like a great way of satisfying a mid-life crisis!

Interesting trip. Have you got a route planned? If so give us some detail like are you going to use any Sustrans routes.

Not really nailled the route down yet; will use the well trodden LEJOG part from the Midlands to Gretna, then turn off and head along the Solway Coast.
Minor roads as much as possible from Belfast, then as flat and quiet as possiible from Holyhead to home.
Don't really want to make it too scientific, but would be interested in any recommendations from locals or people who hav done parts or all of it.
Only got a week to ten days so wil have to take a fairly direct route.

I'd be interested to hear the details too or photos once you are back.

Which side of Strangford Lough are you going down ... or are you going more inland in your route?

If ok for time i plan the east side of the Lough, then down to Newry, Dundalk and Drogheda.
Probably head for Swords then Dublin.
Will take plenty of pics and log the ride on crazyguy.
